Temple of Apollo

The temple was believed to be the home of the god Apollo and the site of his oracle, holding a significant place within the sanctuary. As the fame of the Delphi oracle spread across the ancient world, the temple's design needed to reflect its global magnificence and splendor. According to legend, the first temple of Apollo in the area was constructed from laurel branches, followed by a second made of beeswax and feathers.

Theater of Delphi

The Delphi Theater is situated within the sanctuary of Apollo in ancient Delphi, with a seating capacity of 5,000 spectators. In antiquity, it was the venue for vocal and instrumental music competitions, which were part of the Pythian Games and various other religious festivals and rituals.
